Our Services

KonTerra’s portfolio is well-balanced with evaluations of different types and sizes – keeping us well-connected to the nuance of both country-specific as well as strategic multi-country and global evaluations. Our services include:

  • Strategic and Program Evaluations

Focusing on policies, organizational strategies and program performance. These may include: thematic, country portfolio, country strategic plans, programs, and project evaluations.

  • Evaluation of Humanitarian Response to Major Crises

These include Inter-Agency Humanitarian Evaluations (IAHE) and Corporate Emergency Evaluations (CEEs) which typically assess the performance of humanitarian operations during Level 2 or Level 3 emergencies.

  • Meta-Analysis, Synthesis, and Evaluation Evidence Summaries

Systematizing and aggregating evidence across sectors and countries to identify trends and highlight critical learning.

  • Baseline Assessments

Capturing the status quo prior to program implementation by establishing pre-intervention figures for key indicators.

  • Evaluability Assessments

Examining the readiness of a project, program, or other subject a client wishes to evaluate.

Our Expertise

KonTerra recruits evaluators and sector experts from across the globe with vast experience in humanitarian and development work and outstanding analytical, communication, and diplomatic skills.

Since 2016, we have led over 140 evaluations in more than 70 countries across Asia, Africa, the Americas, and Europe.

We deliver services in conflict-affected regions and fragile states (including Iraq, Somalia, Yemen, South Sudan, Afghanistan, and Central African Republic) with a commitment to the consultant’s security and duty of care. Evaluations of humanitarian interventions in these settings are likely to require tailored approaches to overcome the constrained access, the lack of complete data sets, as well as the high staff turnover.

KonTerra has also extensive experience in middle-income countries such as Cambodia, Indonesia, Colombia, Dominican Republic, and Kyrgyzstan where longer-term action on public policy development, institutional strengthening, and public- private partnerships are at the core of our clients’ work.
