Two New Resources for Suicide Prevention

Suicide prevention is important every day of the year. In September, however, Suicide Prevention Month allows us to shine a special, encouraging light on this topic that affects us all & send a clear, hopeful message that help is available & suicide can be prevented.

This month, we’ve released two new resource, What To Do If You Are Having Thoughts About Suicide, and How To Help Someone Having Thoughts About Suicide. These resources are free to download in our Staff Care Library.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE HAVING THOUGHTS ABOUT SUICIDE

This resource provides simple, actionable guidance on how to:

🆘 Reach out for help
🚫 Safeguard your environment
👫 Limit isolation
📆 Plan out your days
‼️ Key insights about emotion and behavior to remember

HOW TO HELP SOMEONE HAVING THOUGHTS ABOUT SUICIDE

Many people want to help when they know someone may be struggling with suicidal thoughts, but they often feel nervous or unsure about how to approach such a sensitive topic. It’s natural to feel this way, but even small actions can make a big difference. We’ve created a practical guide on how to to offer meaningful support when it’s needed most. It explores:

🚨  Warning signs that someone may be at risk for suicide
💬  Ways to support someone who is considering suicide
