Evaluating WFP’s Country Capacity Strengthening (CCS) Activities in Lesotho

KonTerra successfully concluded an evaluation of all Country Capacity Strengthening (CCS) activities carried out by WFP in the country under its Country Strategic Plan (CSP) (2019-2024) from June 2019 to September 2023. The evaluation aimed to refine CCS activities’ implementation for the remainder of the CSP and inform the design of the next CSP in Lesotho.

This evaluation concluded that collaboration with stakeholders has been extensive and CCS support is expected to reduce costs for certain systems. However, limited progress was observed in strategic planning and financing and more needs to be done to optimize corporate resources.

Continuing to expand and strengthen partnerships, particularly exploring public-private collaboration and South-South cooperation, improving monitoring and evaluation to inform decision-making effectively, were recommended by the evaluation team.

Pierre Leguéné led the evaluation team composed of Phiny Hanson, Tseliso Mokoai, and Katiso Ramalebo. It was managed by Kelechi Udoh and quality assured by Jane Burke. For more details, the evaluation report is available online via this link.
