Business Development Specialist

Abdul Ahad Karim serves as the Business Development Specialist with the Evaluation and Organization Learning Unit at the KonTerra Group. He has over eight years of professional experience and specializes in resource mobilization, project management, coordination, and partnership development.

With a passion for international development and an entrepreneurial spirit, Abdul was the co-founding member of an ed-tech social impact company named Orenda Project. He remained with the company during its crucial infancy, assisting in its growth and raising funds through corporate and development partners, including the Malala Fund. Following this, Abdul has worked in business development and project management roles with multiple organizations, such as the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) and AAN Associates. He developed a keen interest in program evaluations after joining AAN Associates as a business development expert, where he assisted the company in bidding for evaluation assignments with the UN Agencies. As a research officer, he also contributed to evaluating GoPh-UNICEF’s Joint WASH Program in the Philippines from 2012-2020. By virtue of his diverse experience, he has developed expertise in various thematic areas, including education, health, nutrition, child protection, and WASH.

With degrees in business and development studies, Abdul brings cross-functional and trans-disciplinary expertise relevant to his work in business development. He lives in Pakistan and enjoys trekking, yoga, and traveling.
